Good Natured Man (The)

I learned “The Good Natured Man” with my friend Gilles Tabary (flute), on one on his visit to Doolin. I have enjoyed playing this hornpipe for many years now and it is still one of my favourites, which I particularly enjoy playing with Adrian McMahon, flute player from Kilfenora.

I learned this tune from my friend JB, a great fiddle player from Britanny. Liam O’Brien, a wonderful concertina player from Miltown Malbay, recorded this tune on his album “The Lane”.

Castletown Connors

“Castletown Connors” is a jig I learned while I was working at Magnetic Music Café, my first ever job in Doolin. It actually featured on a compilation album from The Irish Folk Festival 2001, which I enjoyed listening to while working, and was played by the band Na Dórsa (feat. Paul Bradly, Martin Quinn, Tiarnán Ó Duinnchin among others). I’ve always liked this tune and you hear it in session every now and then.
