McHugh’s Jig (aka “John McHugh’s” or “Kevin McHugh’s”) is a very common session tune here in Doolin, and all over Ireland. I learned it at one of the Super Sunday sessions in O’Connor’s Pub with Noel O’Donoghue, Sean Vaughan and Hugh Healy.
It is part of one of my favourite sets, which is associated with the Kilfenora Ceili Band, and consists of “Sweet Marie” (aka “Parnell’s March”), another jig/slide (can’t remember the name!) and finishes with “John McHugh’s”.
