“The Attic Sessions” is a new concert series that features some of the very best musicians of Ireland, including Award-winning artists. The 60-mins concerts are acoustic and take place in the intimate, candle-lit atmosphere of The Attic at Hotel Doolin. It is a unique opportunity to experience the very best of Irish traditional music in a cozy and welcoming setting where musicians can share their magic with a small, privileged audience.

Tony O’Connell
Tony O’Connell hails from Glin in West Limerick and has strong family ties to Brosna in County Kerry, where he now lives. Tony is a self taught concertina player and won his first All-Ireland title aged 13. He went on to win the under-18 titles for three consecutive years and then brought home the prestigious senior all-Ireland title aged 18. His distinctive yet traditional style can be described as a steady pulsating rhythm – characteristic for the west of Ireland – while he sets himself apart from other players due to his melodic and harmonic variations, polyphonic playing and his strong dynamic expression.

As a professional musician, Tony has toured Europe, Asia and America, and has collaborated with some of the most acknowledged players from within the Irish music tradition including Andy Morrow, Arty McGlynn, Ben Lennon, Éamonn O’Riordan, Bríd Harper and many others. Tony has released several critically acclaimed albums, including his solo album “‘Live And Well” in 2017.

Rosemary O’Malley
Rosemary O’Malley is a fiddle player from Chicago, now residing in Limerick. She is a product of Chicago’s vibrant Irish traditional music community; while in university, she became immersed in traditional music primarily through the Irish Music School of Chicago, where she attended in her spare time and learned from notable musicians including fiddler Seán Cleland, uilleann piper and flute player Seán Gavin, and countless other local musicians. In subsequent years, Rosemary has enjoyed playing regularly in sessions as well as teaching and performing across Chicago. Rosemary is a recent graduate of the MA in Irish Traditional Music Performance at the University of Limerick, where she was fortunate to study with many top tutors including Siobhán Peoples, John Carty, and Conor Caldwell.
